The PKWY Foundation is a Washington, DC-based 501c3 that focuses on youth-art-based programming and scholarships. As educators and teaching artists, we understood the need for arts education—not only to give back—but to create a collaborative learning environment that nurtures the creative minds of young people. We understand that there are generational differences in the arts, but the mechanics of writing, the elements of a good story, and the fundamentals of visual storytelling foundationally remain the same.
We stand at the intersection of art and education, so it was only right that we created a non-profit that supported our vision for young creatives in which The PKWY Foundation was created.
The PKWY Foundation is dedicated to providing resources and scholarships to young people who wish to pursue careers in media/film production. Our overall goal is to diversify the media production industry by defying the typical production roles. We plan to achieve this by contracting, and staffing young creatives both male and female because DIVERSITY MATTERS.
